FAQ
What does “sunless-driven skincare” mean?
It means our formulas are built to do more than just tan. We combine sunless tanning technology with skincare-focused ingredients to help hydrate, support, and refine the look of skin while giving you a glow without UV exposure.
Why are the products a gel formula ?
They are designed to spread smoothly, absorb quickly, and give you control over your color. A gel may feel different from a mousse or lotion, but once applied properly and dried down, it should not feel overly sticky or tacky. Gels also are safer for acne prone and sensitive skin.
How do I prep my skin before tanning?
Start with clean, dry skin. For best results, exfoliate at least several hours before applying or the day before. Make sure your skin is completely dry before application.
Avoid applying heavy lotions, oils, body butters, deodorant, perfume, or products that have mineral oils in them or leave a residue on the skin right before tanning.
How long does it take for color to develop?
The Quickie develops based on rinse time, with visible color in as little as 30 minutes and continued development for up to 12 hours after rinsing.
The Night Affair works overnight (8 hours), with results visible by morning.
How often should I use each product?
Use The Night Affair two to three times a week or whenever you want overnight glow. Reach for The Quickie anytime you want express color or to deepen your tone.
Should I patch test?
Yes! Always a good idea before first use.
How long does the tan last? and how do i make it last longer?
Longevity depends on your skin, prep, application, and aftercare. In general, keeping skin hydrated and avoiding harsh exfoliation can help your glow last longer and fade more evenly.
Shaving, scrubbing, sweating, chlorine, hot tubs, and strong body washes can cause your tan to fade faster.
Moisturize regularly after your tan has developed, pat skin dry after showering, and avoid harsh exfoliation until you are ready to remove or refresh your tan.
Avoid heavy oils, stripping body washes, hot tubs, and excessive scrubbing, as these can break down the tan faster.
Why is my tan streaking, pilling, or not spreading evenly?
This usually happens when there is residue on the skin, the skin is damp, too much product is applied at once, or the product is over-rubbed while applying.
For the smoothest result, apply to completely clean, dry skin, use a thinner layer, work in sections, and avoid body washes, lotions, oils, deodorant, or exfoliants that may leave a film behind.
Will it look orange or streaky?
Nope. This is a streak-free zone. When applied as directed, results look natural and fade evenly. If you see streakiness before your rinse, rest assured this will go away !
Does this replace sunscreen?
No! These products don’t contain SPF and won’t protect against sunburn. Always wear sunscreen when you’re in the sun.
